A new show hosted by re:focus podcast all about sex, stigma, science, and the South!

About PREPPED

Join us with community leaders and activists as we use humor and community to break down stigma.

The podcast is produced and presented by Memphis-based Focus Magazine and hosted by The Haven Education and Engagement Specialist Drea Fincher and Faith-Based Specialist Misha Wesley. Meharry College was also instrumental in the creation of the podcast. “Prepped” episodes will include local drag performers, politicians, ministers and pastors, and couples leading conversations around sex and the stigma surrounding healthy sexual practices.

The Haven is using “Prepped” as a tool to normalize subjects that may be perceived as taboo here in the south. The co-hosts and guests will tackle polyamory, living as transgender in the Deep South, digital and physical sex work, and other topics that will help move forward conversations about sexual health. The Haven hopes that discussing these important topics in an engaging and humorous way with familiar community faces as guest hosts helps to increase STD and HIV testing numbers while opening the door to more open conversations about healthy sexual practices.
